Samuel relish Rangers clash, hopes to unleash more rookies

Nembe City Football Club coach Gabriel Samuel is relishing the Globacom Nigeria Premier League week 1 clash with Enugu Rangers next weekend.

The Rumson Baribote funded Nembe have had a good pre season with various friendlies and rounded up preparation with a goalless draw against Dolphins in Port Harcourt.

“We are very ready for the new season, with the team on the road to Enugu Rangers. We are very hopeful of making a statement.

“At Nembe we don't rely on big names but recruit a collection of rookies. To me the players are okay and ready to perform,” he said.

The two sides twice met last season, with the Flying Antelopes winning on both legs.

And Nembe City coach Samuel said: “They are a top side, at a very high level, but we will show what we are about.”

The soft spoken gaffer stated his delight at the form of his boys.

He stated: “My team of green horns have given an excellent response.

“We would begin the season with a statement - something we did last year.
