Abia Warriors became the first club to win away this season in the Globacom Nigeria Premier League, as they won 1-0 against Big Brothers, Enyimba International in Aba on Sunday evening.
Midfield dazzler Cletus Itodo made the difference with his first half strike to hand the newcomers the victory.
Former Enyimber striker Bishop Onyeudo was a handful of some sorts on a number of occasions to the hosts' defence line with his physique.
Eagles forward Ifeanyi Ede got a sight of goal but missed with his low shot.
In the 26th minute, a good set piece play by Enyimba saw Emeka Nwanna's header comfortably held by Joseph Onuoha.
A great passage of play was initiated by Enyimba with Nwanna once again involved but Warriors cleared their lines.
Itodo stole the ball in midfield, and he skipped past his marker but his pass into the final 3rd was poor.
The former Sunshine Stars attacking midfielder was finally rewarded as he drove through Enyimba's defence and released a pile driver to hand Warriors a shocking lead. It was an emotional moment for the ex-Enyimba star.
In the dying moments of the first 45 minutes, Anyanwu's screamer from all of 35 yards breezed past Warriors goal.
The second half was cagey, as Warriors held their nerves to snatch a well earned victory.
