A solid rearguard display by Sharks gave them their second clean sheet in the new Elite League season.
The home side thought they had taken the lead in the 28th minute, but
the match referee ruled the goal as offside, leaving coach Kelechi
Emeteole furious on the sidelines.
Israel Abia had the best chance for Heartland. The Naze Millionaires
have now recorded two draws and one loss in their opening three games of
the season.
Sharks boss Gbenga Ogunbote made six changes from the side that
defeated Lobi Stars 1-0 on Sunday, and it was the defensive formation
that he deployed to neutralise the frustrated hosts.
As the game wore on, Heartland remained the team most likely to break
the deadlock and substitute Vincent Amakom tried his luck but couldn't
get the elusive goal.
In comparison, Sharks offered very little as they were contented sitting back to protect their territory.
Happy Okuoka's appearance off the bench was a boost to Heartland but he could not alter the stalemate.
The result left Heartland with 2 points from 3 games, while the Blue Angels boast of 4 points from 3 games.
Heartland line up : Obi, Doumbia, Koffi, Abia (Happy 31'), Hassan
(Anakum 58'), Kalu, Jolly-Osas, Okoro, Ogbonnaya, Wisdom, Ekeh
Sharks line up: Danladi, Odinga, Akas, Jaiyeola, Moses, Olalekan,
Ajani (Fabiyi 55'), Razak, Inyam, Aremu, Ezioha (Joseph 50')
