Sunday dossier of our heroes abroad

Former Enugu Rangers winger Felix Ogbuke put in a sterling performance for Hoang Anh Gia Lai  in the V-League as he scored a wonderful effort that was the talk of the town in the Asian country.


There was also a goal for Slyvester Igboun in the Denmark Superligaen as FC Midtjylland won 3-0 at Randers.

Vincent Enyeama was at his usual best for Lille in the Ligue 1.

BELGIUM

Imoh Ezekiel played for 76 minutes for Standard Liege in the one-nil win over Anderlecht in a Jupiler League Playoff Championship Group match.

BULGARIA

Stanley Okoro was substituted in the last 18 minutes for Cherno More Varna when they won 2-0 against Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

DENMARK

FC Midtjylland won three-nil at Randers with Slyvester Igboun on fire in the 90th minute, while Rilwan Hassan was on for 76 minutes. Missing as a result of various degrees of injuries were Femi Ajilore, Ebere Paul Onuachu and Izunna Uzochukwu.

ENGLAND

Liverpool showed no mercy to Tottenham Hotspurs winning 4-0 at Anfield. Super Eagles winger Victor Moses replaced Raheem Sterling in the 83rd minute.

FRANCE

Lille pipped Guingamp 1-0 to keep their title hopes alive at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Reliable Super Eagles goalkeeper was on from start to finish in the match.

GERMANY

1860 Munchen went down 1-0 to Cologne in a Bundesliga 2 encounter. Anthony Ujah was thrown into the fray in the 79th minute.

ITALY

SS Lazio edged visiting Parma 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome. Ogenyi Onazi started the game for Edoardo Reja’s side, while Joel Chukwuma Obi was benched for the entire match duration by Roberto Donadoni.

NETHERLANDS

Bartholomew Ogbeche came off the bench to play 28 minutes for Cambuur when they were held to a 0-0 draw by AZ Alkmaar.

NORWAY

Hosts Bodoe/Glimt forced Aalesund to a one-all draw at the Aspmyra Stadion. Dominic Chatto did well for the home team, while Leke James also held his won for the visitors.

Solomon James Owello couldn't inspire IK Start at Stroemsgodset. He played central midfield as they were beaten 4-2 at the Marienlyst Stadion.

POLAND

One-cap Eagles defender Ugoh Ukah was in the Jagiellonia Bialystok team that drew 3-3 at Gornik Zabrze.

PORTUGAL

Simeon Nwankwo was not involved in action for Gil Vicente who were held to a 0-0 draw by Maritimo at the Municipal de Barcelos.

Femi Balogun came-on for Christian Obodo in the 86th minute in Olhanense's 2-1 loss at Academica. John Ogu wasn't dressed for the match.

SPAIN

Midfielder Ramon Azeez played 8 minutes for Almeria when they lost 1-0 at Valladolid.

Ikechukwu Uche started from the substitutes bench in Villarreal's 1-1 home draw against Elche.

SWEDEN

Gbenga Arokoyo earned an 84th minute yellow card as Mjallby settled for a 2-2 draw against Gefle.

UKRAINE

Metalist Kharkiv midfielder Yusuf Atanda Ayila was unable to stop a rampant Shakhtar Donetsk in a six-thriller which ended 4-2 in favour of the former UEFA Europa League Kings.

Brown Ideye failed to continue his cup form in Dynamo Kyiv's two-nil loss at Dnipro. Former Golden Eaglets skipper was benched for the match.

VIETNAM

Felix Ogbuke's 11th minute strike was cancelled out by Sunday Emmanuel as Hoang Anh Gia Lai were forced to a 1-1 draw by V-League leaders Thanh Hoa. Bassey Akpan kept in goal with Timothy Anjembe taking his place upfront as the hosts searched for the winner.
