English Premier League teams, Liverpool and Everton are preparing a
summer bid of $13m for the services of Super Eagles and Lazio defensive
midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi, SL10 has reliably gathered.
Onazi, 21, moved to the Serie A outfit back in 2011 after impressing at the 2009 Under 17 World Cup held in his homeland and has established himself as a regular fixture in the colours of the capital side.
The energetic midfielder's excellent displays have attracted the interest of a number of elite teams, but it appears the bid by the two rivals looks a serious one.
According to the English dailies in recent past, Everton were strongly rumoured to be tabling a bid for the 18-cap Nigerian international, who is a product of My People FC, a football club owned by famous Prophet TB Joshua.
''The Premier League is my future. I have always dreamt of being a professional footballer and here I am in Italy,'' says Onazi. ''Off course, I would like to play in England, but we must keep our feet on the ground and worry about the present.
Liverpool's title bid will almost certainly make them a more attractive proposition in the summer, and manager Brendan Rodgers will be looking to add more depth to his squad this summer particularly having been stretched after the injury to Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva. Onazi would add to an existing base of promising youngsters at Anfield.
