Chike Kandi who joined Chelsea at Under-16 level from Birmingham City has been released.
He started his Chelsea career brightly scoring freely for the Under-16 season before been offered a scholarship in 2012.
However Injuries impacted his playing time in the first half of the
season but he marked his first start with a goal away to Crystal Palace
in November 2012.
Chike is a big, mobile centre forward who linkplay with good skill and
intelligence and signed his professional deal last summer.
He struggled to earn a consistent place in the Under-18 team last
season, with over half of his pre-Christmas appearances coming from the
bench.
In the new year he took in trial spells at Blackburn, Birmingham and Leicester with a view to a permanent move.
He failed to impress any of the above mentioned team and Chelsea released him at the expiration of his contract this month.
Despite representing Wales at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels,
he took part in the Nigerian Under-17 training camp ahead of the last
World cup in Dubai.
