Chairman of Kogi United FC,
Honorable Abdul Adama has assured that his side would get even better with
improved performance and result just as he remained coy on the club's promotion
aspiration to the Premier League.
Kogi United last Saturday, pummeled DSS FC 5-0 in Lokoja - in one of their best performances at home this season and also cemented their 100 per cent home records in the league.
Adama who was satisfied with both performance and result against DSS even with fresh set of players expressed optimism that his boys would not get carried away with it, hence they will improve on it.
"I'm very satisfied, not just because of the 5-0 victory, but there are some new players that have been on ground all the while that were untested, and they were given the chance, and I'm happy they did not disappoint us,"Adama was quoted by the club's spokesman Wale Mustapha.
"You could see that most of the goals came in the first half when there were no changes made, so with the victory and their performance, it give me confidence that we have better players who are yet to be in action and we have many places to go," he said.
Adama, who also doubles as the Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Public Private Partnership, PPP, remained silent on the club's ambition just as he believes his side would get better as they play games.
"We are not looking at promotion for now, but we are approaching every matches as they come, I'm not going to talk about premier league ticket when we have many more matches to play, we will continue to play our matches with all seriousness, may be in another one month or so, you can ask me this question again"
When asked how the Wada Boys would transform their impressive home form to away games, Adama said, "well as you can see the players are in top form, and that's what they need whether it's home or away game, what I believe is that we should get more serious about next match, and to come out with this kind of result, well let's see how it goes," Adama concluded.
Kogi United will this week, make a trip to Jos for their Week 22 encounter against Mighty Jets FC.
