Performance Scorecard Of Flamingoes Against China U17 Women


The ratings:

Onyinyechukwu Okeke – The Ineeh Queens youngster was on holidays at the beginning of the game but was never found wanting when called to duty. (7/10)


Mary Ologbosere – Another energetic show saw Mary stamp her foot on the right side of defence. She wasn't afraid to attack, a required ingredient of a modern day full back. One of her forays led to the second goal after a well-timed cross to Uchenna. (8.5/10)

Ayomide Anibaba – She was solid as a left-back and frustrated the Chinese from raiding operating the flanks. She showed her versatility by slotting as a central midfielder in the latter stages of the match. (7/10)

Esther Elijah – The team sweeper rarely made mistake. Her strength at the back was crucial for the Flamingoes. (7.5/10)

Ugochi Emenayo – The Nasarawa Amazons defender played an average game by her usual standard. She was too casual at the heart of the defence line. (6/10)

Ihuoma Onyebuchi – The holding midfielder was at her combative best. She took three shots on target, a good statistics for an upcoming lad. (7/10)

Joy Bokiri – The Bayelsa Queens midfielder capped a superb performance from midfield with her long passes to the wingers. She was denied by the Chinese goalkeeper after taking a long range shot. (8/10)

Rasheedat Ajibade – She hardly put any foot wrong in her execution in a diamond role behind the strikers. Once again the FC Robo dynamic talent justified the faith and confidence of the technical crew with the team's opener. She was voted the MVP of the match by FIFA Technical Group at the Stadium. (9/10)

Uchenna Kanu– The Pelican Stars winger was a menace down both flanks with series of step-overs and industry. She was right on the spot to connect Mary's teasing cross. She was never afraid going forward and took the battle to the opposition and won most of them. She created the spaces and won vital set pieces for Nigeria. (8.5/10)

Aminat Yakubu – She didn’t get the best of games and failed to assert herself. The Rivers Angels winger had to be replaced in the second half. (6/10)

Chinwendu Ihezuo – It was an average performance from the team skipper. (6/10)

Substitutes:

Cynthia Aku – Came on and gave the team energy upfront. She made case for a starters shirt with a strong substitute appearance. (7/10)

Joy Duru – Joy looked in good shape and gave a good account of herself. (6/10)

Vivian Ikechukwu – She didn't get enough game time to be assessed.
