Rangers star defender Chibuzor Madu and Sharks goalkeeper Danladi Isa have been
dropped by coach Stephen Keshi ahead of next month’s CHAN.
Central defender Madu has not trained with the rest of the squad for three days due to injury, while goalkeeper Isa has also suffered an injury that will take over 10 days to heal.
The other axed players are Lobi’s Douglas Achive, Warri Wolves Emenike Achibi, who was invited only last week, and Akwa United’s Ezekiel Mba.
Assistant coach Dan ‘the Bull Amokachi, who spoke on behalf of Keshi to the players said they were dropped not because they were not good enough, but because of time constraint, assuring them that sooner than later they will again be invited to the national team under the present scheme of things.
“We urge you to return to your clubsides and continue to give your best and we will keep monitoring your progress for the future”, he said.
