Arugo Monkey On The Move

Chijioke Ejiogu aka Arugo Monkey has taken his soccer boots from Sharks of Port Harcourt to Enyimba. The highly experienced custodian will try to help Aba-based side in their quest  in the Globacom Nigeria Premier League, as the club prepares for the 2014 CAF Champions League.


Ejiogu has got the reputation of being one of the best goalkeepers in Nigeria. He became famous when he single handedly took Imo State Amateur side FC Arugo to the semi finals of the 2000 edition of the NFF Fed Cup. They eventually bowed out to Heartland. The feat made him known as Arugo Monkey.

He played for Julius Berger and even won the FA Cup back in 2002. Later he moved to Port Harcourt where he featured for Dolphins and eventualy joined Sharks.

In Enyimba he will compete for the place between the sticks with Femi Thomas and Paul Godwin.
