The South African Football Association have dismissed Nigerian media speculation that Stephen Keshi has signed a two year contract to be the Bafana Bafana coach.
A few media outlets in Nigeria and South Africa reportedly announced that Keshi had signed to be the next Bafana Bafana coach.
The South African FA said they had received a number of media enquiries about the stories, but dismissed the reports and said a decision on the coach would only be made in July.
“That article, which is attributed to a source, is devoid of any truth
as SAFA will only make the decision on the appointment of the new coach
mid-July," South African FA President, Dr Danny Jordaan said in a
statement.
“Keshi’s name is among the various names that have been thrown around
by the media. SAFA has not yet arrived at any decision regarding the
appointment of the new Senior Men’s National Coach.
That decision will
be pronounced once the World Cup is over.”
