Players of Warri Wolves have blamed their 1-0 loss to Kaduna United in
yesterday's league match on the poor playing surface of the Kaduna
Township Stadium.
Joshua Obaje told SL10 the bad nature of the pitch made it impossible for them to properly express themselves.
"We didn't play to our capacity because of the bad nature of the pitch, we struggled to string passes and our game is based on that, this pitch shouldn't be hosting league games, it's too bad."
Obaje, a second half substitute in the game admitted that the officiating was fair in the game.
"It compares to what we have endured elsewhere, I can proudly say kudos to the officials but it's a pity the pitch killed what could have been a spectacle."
He urged the League Management Committee to do a reappraisal of league pitches before the second stanza begins.
"I will advise another round of pitch inspection be conducted because some pitches given pass marks at the start of the season might have degenerated, so there is a need for another inspection."
Joshua Obaje rumoured to be on his way back to Heartland FC of Owerri when the midseason transfer window poured cold water on the speculations.
"I don't know where that story came from but for now there's no truth in it, am happy at Warri Wolves but this is football, where you can predict tomorrow."
