The biggest story of the summer transfer market so far involving a domestic based player has to be the imminent shift of Kano Pillars star, Abdullahi Shehu to Al Orubah, Saudi Arabia.
Regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders out there in the Glo Premier League, Al Orubah has pulled a major transfer coup by luring him to Sakakah.
SL10.ng understands that Kuwaiti top-tier side, Qadsia SC were also in the running for Abdullahi Shehu's signature, and they did everything to hijack the deal but were unsuccessful.
Aware of Al Orubah's desperation to sign the former Flying Eagles fullback, Kano Pillars demanded $180,000 transfer fee, which has now been met by the buying club.
That opened the door to Abdullahi Shehu's transfer, with Al Orubah offering him $150,000 every year as wage (approximately =N=100 million in Nigerian currency for the duration of his contract).
The 21-year-old will depart Nigeria tomorrow, Wednesday and arrive the Aljouf region on Thursday to undergo a traditional medical.
If the Nigeria international passes the medical tests with flying colours, he will append his signature to a four-year contract.
