Kogi United survived an early scare to thrash non league team Future Dreams in a warm up match played on Sunday at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
In a friendly match played on Saturday, the Wada Boys also defeated Giwa FC 1-0 at the same venue.
United head coach Yomi Elijah made some changes to the side that earned the narrow win against Giwa FC, with the likes of Jatau Joseph, Destiny Ashadi and Afolabi Abiodun all handed starters' bearths.
Ten minutes into the tune up game, goalkeeper Jatau brought down a rampaging attacker in the 18-yard area
The resultant spot kick was saved by the former Supreme Court goal minder.
United captain Afolabi looked lively as a wing-back with his timely runs and crosses from the right-hand side.
Five minutes to the end of the first stanza, Future Dreams scored against the run of play.
Sanni Idris lost his footing and Monday Omohera took advantage with the first goal of the match.
With the game looking like ending 1-0 in favour of Future Dreams at halftime, Idris made up for his criminal error with a morale boosting equalizer for the hosts.
Olaitan was unforgiving as he buried his first goal of the afternoon. He benefitted from the cross of playmaker Ashadi two minutes off the hour mark.
The home side then began to play the ball around with more confidence, Future Dreams concentrated on containing United, but Olaitan still added two more.
He was fed by Adedoyin Olowosaiye and he wrong footed the keeper in the 82nd minute.
The tall striker completed an impressive hat trick six minutes from time when he dribbled past the keeper and slotted to an empty net.
There was still time for Olowosaiye to net the last goal of the match in the dying minutes.
