NFF Mourn Former Ogun FA Boss

The Ogun State football fraternity has been mourning the death of Pa Joseph Akanbi Adeola, a former chairman of the Ogun State Football Association who passed away on 19th March at the age of 76.


Pa Adeola was chairman of the Ogun State Football Association for eight years (1998-2006), before he was elected Executive Vice Chairman under the chairmanship of Architect Tunji Bolu (2006-2011), and also served as a member of the executive board in the present dispensation under Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, until his death.

He started as a sports officer in the old Western Region, serving as Secretary of the Western Region FA under the respected Chief Lekan Salami (1971-1974), and moved to Ogun State when the State was created in 1976.

Pa Adeola served as Secretary, Ogun State Football Association between 1976 and 1978, and was pioneer Secretary of Gateway Football Club when the club was formed in 1987, after his retirement.
