Black Satellites of Ghana lost to the Flying Eagles of Nigeria 2-0 in
the first semi final of the 2015 Orange African U20 Championship due to
the waywardness of their attackers in front of goal, according to head
coach of the team Sellas Tetteh.
Ghana will need to improve their finishing in future matches after they created chances in the match played at the Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor on Wednesday but failed to find the back of the net.
The Black Satellites deserved at least a goal after dominating for some time after the break, but they lacked a clinical finisher.
“I’m highly disappointed that we played all the good football but couldn’t utilize the chances created, coach Tetteh said in a post match conference.
“I believe we are on course and this is a preparatory ground for the WC so we will try hard there and do something better.”
Ghana were seeking a fourth African youth title after losing out on penalties to Egypt at the last edition in Algeria two years ago.
The Black Satellites have already qualified for the 2015 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand this May.
