Ezeh: AYC Final Will Be Tough, But We Will Triumph

Flying Eagles forward Chidera Ezeh has predicted a difficult African Youth Championship final against Senegal on Sunday, but he would still back Nigeria to carry the day.

“It’s an important game for us, it won’t be as easy as the first game between the two teams (which Nigeria won 3-1), but we will still carry the day,” said the 17-year-old FC Porto youngster.

“Senegal will be very strong, but we will also be ready because we have taken each game we have played here like a cup final.”

The 45,000-capacity Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar is expected to on Sunday record its biggest crowd since the championship began two weeks ago.

However, Ezeh maintained the most important actors on the day will be the players themselves.

“It won’t be the crowd who will play this game, it will be the players who will decide the champions,” he offered.
