Odemwingie fires impressive brace to give Keshi more headache

Peter Odemwingie is in cloud nine after his brace secured a 3-1 win for Stoke City in a Barclays Premier League game against West Ham.

Odemwingie scored the first in the 32minute rather fortuitously as a Peter Crouch header came off him on the line to level scores for Stoke City after Andy Carrol had put West Ham up.

However there was no argument about his second goal which came in the 79th minute with scores at 2-1.

Speaking after the game Odemwingie expressed his delight but shifted the praise to the team's defence.

"I'm excited about the goals I scored but praise should go to our defence, they were resolute especially when we were leading 2-1.

"As excited as I am with my goals, the win is all for the team."

Odemwingie fell out with Stephen Keshi two years ago during an AFCON qualifier match against Rwanda, and the coach has ignored pleas from football-loving Nigerians to include the man who moved to Stoke in the winter from Cardiff City and has scored 3 goals so far.
