CAF Confederations Cup Report: Bayelsa United 2-0 How Mine

Bayelsa united are through to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup on a 3-2 aggregate win after a 2-0 victory over How Mine Fc of Zimbabwe in Sapele.


After dominating possession in the first half,Bayelsa United created few goal scoring chances and the visitors How Mine FC were resolute in defence restricting them to speculative efforts from range and timely interceptions and blocks to end the first half 0-0.

Bayelsa United who needed a goal to qualify after losing the first leg 2-1 away in Harare,finally got the goal their play deserved in the 54 minutes through Buhari Jaffar who finished expertly after some good work from the midfield.

Azubuike Okechukwu doubled the tally for Bayelsa United 9 minutes from time with a fine effort which sailed pass Goalkepper Ephraim Mazarura in goal for How Mine FC.

The match ended that way and the Nigerians secured their passage into the next round much to the delight of their supporters.
