Aishat Bello Rallies Her Troops For Title Charge


Confluence Queens attacking midfielder Aishat Bello says the week 5 Nigeria Women Premier League match against Rivers Angels could be a crucial time in the battle for the title.


Speaking after netting a brace in the team's 4-0 massacre of Taraba Queens, the youngster rallied her team-mates to prepare for the game with determination and focus.

"At the beginning of the season I set a target of three goals, but thank God I grabbed a brace today (Sunday). I really cherish the long range shot I scored. It was a team effort.

''After the loss to Delta Queens in Oleh, we all vowed to win the double header against Taraba Queens and River Angles. One is gone, one more to go against the star studded Rivers.''

''The week 5 encounter will be very crucial to our title hopes, who says a win is not a possibility? But the bottom line is that we have to be fearless and play our normal game.

On how she felt delivering the goods with Governor Idris Wada in attendance, Aishat said: "I am absolutely delighted, really, and will cherish this day scoring in front of the financier of this club. On behalf of the team we promise to give every game our best shot."
