Nigerian Premier League Report: Nasarawa United 2-0 Lobi Stars

Nasarawa United picked up their second win of the season with a 2-0 victory over 10 man Lobi Stars in Lafia.

The first 45 minute of the encounter was cagey but Nasarawa United should have been two nil up before the break but a goal line clearance from Lobi's Stepen Irolo and an unforgivable miss from Nassarawa's Christian Tony who surprisingly fail to score from five yards out with the fans already on their feet.

The first half ended 0-0 but 13 minutes after the re start, Irolo went from hero to zero when he handled in the box and Ex-Kwara United man, Seun Sogbeso duly converted the resultant spot kick to put the homers 1 nil up.

Sogbeso later grabbed his second and Nasarawa's second when he converted another spot kick with 10 minutes left to play with Irolo shown the red card for the offence that lead to the penalty.

Expectedly the fans of Nasarawa United regained their voices and chanted songs of victory shortly after the second goal as 10 man Lobi showed little or no intention to force a frenetic end to the game.

The boys of Ex-Pillars coach, Baba Ganaru comfortably saw the game out and claim their second win of the season both coming at home.
