Rabiu Ali Plays Down Talk Of Crisis At Kano Pillars‏

Rabiu Ali has played down talk of a crisis at Nigeria Professional Football League champions Kano Pillars.

Under new manager Okey Emordi, Masu Gida have failed to win their first two matches of the season after losing 2 - 1 to Enugu Rangers this past weekend.

And they crashed out of the CAF Champions League in the qualifying round, losing 4 - 3 on aggregate to AS Vita Club of DR Congo.

''Actually it is disturbing as we have not started the season as we expected. As far as I am concerned, there is no crisis in the team. The challenge is on the part of the technical crew to get back to the drawing board,'' says 'Pele'.
''The game against Rangers was good. The referee was not fair to us after he awarded a penalty which they missed. The match ought to have ended in a draw.''

Rabiu Ali now goes by the moniker Pele due to his qualities as a play-maker but he has been answering that nickname since childhood.

''I can't recall when I started answering this name Pele. It started right from my primary school age,'' he concluded.

The midfielder was one of the standout players for the domestic Eagles at January's African Nations Championship, netting a brace against Mozambique in the group stage.
