Kalu Uche's Brace Not Good Enough For Al-Rayyan

Kalu Uche bagged a brace for Al-Rayyan in the Asia Champions League but saw his team lose 4-3 to Al-Shabab of Saudi Arabia.


Majeed Al Marshadi put the Saudi's ahead in the 3rd minute but Kalu Uche leveled for Al-Rayyan in the 9th minute and his team mate Sayaf Al Korbi doubled their advantage in the 19th minute.

Ahmed Ateef leveled the scoreline to 2 - 2 four minutes later before Kalu Uche grabbed his brace in the 41st minute of play.

Brazilian Rafinha got his own brace in the second half to hand Al Shabab a 4 - 3 victory.

Kalu Uche joined the Qatari Stars League outfit Al-Rayyan from rivals El Jaish after about 13 years in Europe playing in Spain,France, Turkey and Switzerland. Currently placed third in the standings after 3 rounds of matches with 3 points, Al-Rayyan have a lot of work to do in the reverse fixtures if they are to progress to the knock out rounds of the competition.
