Nigeria maintained it 46th rankings in the latest FIFA rankings released in the early hours of today.
Going by the latest rankings Africa's Champion Nigeria are still 6th on
the continent, behind Tunisia, Ghana, Egypt and Côte d'Ivoire, who are
Africa's highest ranked team.
The biggest movers up the ranking in Africa whose victory in a friendly
against Bosnia-Herzegovina and the devaluation of last year’s defeat
against Qatar have helped them climb 12 positions to 26th.
In the history of the rankings the Nigeria Super Eagles highest Position ever was 5th in 1994.
Of the 67 matches taken into account, 57 were friendlies. The other ten
matches were played in the context of the qualifiers for the Asian Cup
in 2015 in Australia, which brings the total number of matches evaluated
so far this year to 122.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 10 April 2014.
