Suraj Ayeleso put up a
scintillating performance as Kwara United forced FC Taraba to a goalless draw at the
Apar Aku Stadium in Makurdi on Saturday.
Ayeleso made several match winning saves in both halves to give Kwara United their third away draw in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League campaign.
The visitors started the game brightly but their front line were wasteful in front of goal and had many glaring chances wasted.
The Harmony Warriors created so many chances but their inability to score goals continued on Saturday in Makurdi.
The host were also guity of missed opportunities as they
pressed so hard towards the end of half time to end their recent run of
poor form.
Kwara United which dominated some of the proceedings took
many shorts from outside 18 yard box but none of the efforts was close
in the first half except Azeez Babalola short which hit the bar in the
34 minute.
The Harmony Warriors ended the first half on a high note, they came
back stronger in the second half but the resilient Jalingo based
defense was up to the task to deal with the threat of the Ilorin based
team.
Kwara United finest opportunity came in the 64th minute
when no one in the right position to slot home an Ahmed Jimoh's
beautiful cross with Evans Iyoro in best position to score.
In the 65th minute, Ayeleso made another match winning safe
from a Bobby Abel's one on one opportunity stressing the Kwara United
goalkeeper to a far left touching the ball with his fingers to corner.
Ahmed Jimoh missed another glaring opportunity for Kwara
United in the 66th minute and remained the only player with most missed
chances in the game.
The host recouped again in the 67th minute pilling pressure
on the visitors but some of their efforts either went wide or Ayeleso
in good position to deal with it.
There was some concerns for Kwara United in the later stages of the game but they held on well to earn the goalless draw.
