Enyimba ensured they finished round 18 in impressive style, winning 3-1 against league leaders Sunshine Stars in Aba, and thus levelling on points with the Owena Waves.
Kano Pillars and Wikki Tourists both played their part in a spectacular Northern Derby, with Wikki coming from one goal down to snatch a draw.
Heartland bagged a point against an uninspiring Elkanemi Warriors, whilst Sharks picked up three points over Abia Warriors.
Elsewhere Tunde Sanni started his second stint as the head coach of Kwara United on winning note as his wards edged out Ifeanyi Uba FC 2-1 at the Rojenny Stadium.
The formation for the Team of The Week comprises of three Kwara United players and a couple of outstanding lads.
Do you agree with the team selected by editor of Futball Galore, Ademetan Abayomi? Please feel free to leave a comment if you feel I have overlooked anyone.
Suraj Ayeleso [Kwara United]
Seemed to attract the ball like a magnet, making numerous saves as Kwara United won 2-1 against Ifeanyi Uba FC.
Onamado Goodluck [Warri Wolves]
More of a winger than a full back, he was seen constantly rampaging down the flank, whipping in dangerous crosses for the Wolves forwards. His technical ability made him a constant handful for the Taraba defenders.
Akeem Onigbari [Kwara United]
Onigbari was tested throughout by the dangerous Ifeanyi Uba FC forwards but stood up to the challenge, showed good strength when needed and helped his team earn a deserved three points.
Orji Kalu [Enugu Rangers]
Positioned himself perfectly to prevent Bayelsa United from scoring on a couple of occasion and sprayed several pin point long balls out from the back.
Ofem Inah [Sharks FC]
Dependable at the back and provided plenty of width. Coped well with the pace of Abia Warriors strikers.
Chidiebere Ajoku [Heartland FC]
Patrolled the centre of the park with authority. Recovered countless balls and was the heartbeat of the Heartland midfield. He never seemed to misplace a pass.
Sikiru Adewale [Warri Wolves]
Without doubt one of the most complete midfielders in the top flight. Scored to help the Seasiders secure maximum points against FC Taraba in Makurdi. The standout midfielder on the pitch.
Tunde Adeniji [Sunshine Stars]
The Owena Waves' main source of creativity in the 3-1 loss at Enyimba. Dribbled past opposing players with ease and scored the only goal for his side.
Ezekiel Bassey [Enyimba FC]
Everything the winger does seems to turn to gold at the moment, and he once again had the Midas touch for his side in the top of the table clash. Provided a sumptuous cross which Stephen Eze turned home for an own goal and then added the third for his side.
Ismaila Gata [Kwara United]
He's back to his best says a die hard Kwara United supporter on the social media. The striker was menacing and struck a precise finish which turned out to be the match winner.
Godwin Obaje [Wikki Tourists]
The ex-Mighty Jets forward was a complete handful for the Kano Pillars defenders, hassling and harrying them with his strength. The former FRSC striker showed there is more to his game when he scored the equaliser and his 6th goal of the season.
