Rasheed Olabiyi Off To Winning Start To Life At Houston Dynamo

Newly signed midfielder Rasheed Olabiyi, 24, made a winning start to life in the US as his club Houston Dynamo humbled San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 on Saturday morning.

Ricardo Clark opened the scoring in the 10th minute for the visitors.

A fine team move led to DaMarcus Beasley feeding a pass to Alexander Lopez on the left, and the latter whipped in a cross for Clark to head in.

With eleven minutes left on the clock, Dynamo boss Owen Coyle handed Olabiyi his MLS debut as the Nigerian replaced Lopez.

Two minutes later, Dynamo would seal their win at the Avaya Stadium.

A counter-attack led to Leonel Miranda squaring for Bruin to tap in an easy goal and give the Dynamo a 2-0 win.

Olabiyi made his Nigeria League debut in the 2007 season with Enyimba FC. He helped the Peoples' Elephants win the Nigeria Premier League in 2010 in addition to three Nigeria FA Cups (2009, 2013, 2014) and two Nigeria Super Cups (2010, 2013). Enyimba also reached the semifinals of the CAF (African) Champions League in 2011.
