Super Falcons skipper Evelyn Nwabuoku has stated that the team will
compensate Nigerians by qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games after
missing out on the London even three years ago.
29 players, minus Liverpool striker Asisat Oshoala, have been training at the National Stadium ahead of this weekend’s clash against Equatorial Guinea.
“We know Equatorial Guinea is a very good side but on our part, we have resolved to qualify because the last time Nigeria did not make it for the Olympics,” said Nwabuoku.
“We want to correct our mistakes by being at the Olympics.”
The BIIK Kazygurt midfielder added : “Hearing the Equatorial Guinea girls say they know us does not make us fear.
“ If they say they know us, we also know them, that’s not a problem for us. All I want to tell Nigerians is that victory is sure because we will make them smile come Saturday.”
