Emmanuel Emenike was on target for Fenerbache in an abandoned game played Monday night in Turkey against Trabzonspor.
Emenike opened scoring for Fenerbahce in the 22nd minute in the ill-tempered match characterised by fans of Trabzonspor throwing firecrackers with pieces of iron and other objects as early as the 5th minute of play.
Shortly before Emenike scored riot police had to use their shield to protect a Fenerbahce player from the missiles been thrown at him by Trabzonspor supporters before he could take a corner kick.
The violence got out of control after Emenike's goal, which lead to stones been thrown onto the pitch by Trabzonspor fans forcing the centre referee and Fenerbahce players to leave the pitch.
The match was later cancelled by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) after Fenerbahce players refused to continue the game for fear of further damaging attack.
The TFF will rule on the fate of the abandoned game after a meeting tomorrow meanwhile Fenerbahce are still top of the standing on 51 points 3 points better than their closest challengers Galattassary in second who have played a game more.
