Naija Team of the week

Chigozie Agbim (Gombe United, Nigeria)
There won't be many too many instances this season where a goalkeeper is on the losing train but makes it into the Team of the Week. However, the former Enugu Rangers goalie did exactly that for single-handedly keeping Akwa United's winning margin low against Gombe United down to one goal - it could have been a bashing. Akwa fired off a whopping 10 shots on target against Gombe while Agbim's fingertip save on Nnamso Ede's curling free-kick was the pick of the bunch.

Hope Fiberesima (Dolphins, Nigeria)
Heartland vs Dolphins was the marquee match of the Globacom Nigeria Premier League weekend. The stage was set for Heartland to unleash the venom, but tireless defender Hope was up to the task of stopping them. The young right-back was composed at the back and a genuine threat going forward.

Rasheed Alabi (Omonia Nicosia, Cyprus)
The natural left footer was dangerous from the flank as the team depended on him for quality crosses against Ethnikos Achnas.

Joseph Yobo (Norwich City, England)
At times throughout his career, the Rivers born leader has looked far from stable. However, on Saturday against Stoke City it was the Nigerian who came away from the match looking like a class act. He looked in control against the Potters, winning headers and reading Stoke's attacks.

Kenneth Omeruo (Middlesbrough, England)
Kenneth Omeruo shrugged off an injury to last the entire duration of the game as Middlesbrough defeated Ipswich Town 2-0 at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.

Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy)
Though the capital side lost one-nil at home to Atalanta, Onazi was at his workaholic best in the colours of Lazio and was brilliant in front of the back four.

Chuks Aneke (Crewe, England)
Crewe are shrewd but luckily for them they seem to have a knack for poaching young football talents. Convincing the Arsenal midfielder to join them on loan was a good business for the League One team. His best moment of netting a brace makes him the pick of the bunch.

Nnamso Edoh (Akwa United, Nigeria)
Nnamso's goal and performance for Akwa United in their 1-0 win against Gombe United at the weekend will go some way into convincing national team selectors to entrust him with dead balls.

Imoh Ezekiel (Standard Liege, Belgium)
Imoh made his debut for the Super Eagles in the friendly match against Mexico. He followed up a lively national team bow with a goal for Standard Liege over the weekend against KV Mechelen 2-0 at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne and he's showed us again that he belongs to the “Big Boys League”.

Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke (Schalke 04, Germany)
Obasi's first goal in two years against Hoffenheim was sublime. His performance earned him praises from team-mates, club officials and the Press. It was a good way to announce to his critics that he is back to form.

Yero Bello (Ashdod SC, Israel)
Yero was the real star of the show in Ashdod's 4-5 home loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv. He controlled the game right from the time he was introduced and twice netted for the hosts.
