Saturday dossier of Nigerians abroad

BELGIUM

Standard Liege eased past 10-man KV Mechelen 2-0 at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne. Super Eagles striker, Imoh Ezekiel, who was a 60th minute substitute was on song in the 84th minute.


Cercle Brugge striker Michael Uchebo was on from start to finish in the 1-4 home loss to Gent.

CHINA

Peter Utaka was a 29th minute substitute in the fold of Beijing Guoan when they beat Changchun Yatai 1-0.

FRIENDLY MATCH

Daniel Chima was on the scoresheet for Molde in their game against Sogndal which ended 4-4.

ENGLAND

John Obi Mikel was benched for the entire duration as Chelsea destroyed Tottenham 4-0 in the London Derby.

Victor Anichebe played for West Brom when they lost three-nil to Manchester United at the Hawthorns. The former U23 forward earned a 90th minute yellow card.

Premiership sides Norwich City and Stoke City settled for a 1-1 draw.

Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo made the cut for the hosts in an impressive fashion, while rejuvenated Peter Odemwingie played the full 90 minutes for Stoke.

In the England Championship, defender Kenneth Omeruo was in full time action for Middlesbrough who peppered Ipswich Town 2-0.

Jordan Obita and Hope Akpan played for Reading in their 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.

QPR posted a comfortable 2-0 win over Birmingham City. Nigerian-born forward Jordan Ibe played full throttle for Birmingham while Nedum Onuoha marshalled QPR's defence for the match duration.

Millwall managed a slim 1-0 away win over Derby County. Danny Shittu featured in the game but made way for Paul Robinson in the 56th minute.

In the League One, Leyton Orient midfielder Moses Odubajo lasted the full match length in their 0-0 draw with Notts County. Elsewhere, Carl Ikeme played for Wolverhampton in their 3-0 win over Walsall.

GERMANY

Schalke 04 striker Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke netted against his former team Hoffenheim in a Bundesliga 4-0 win. He was substituted in the 71st minute.

GREECE

Panathinaikos midfielder Abdul Ajagun came off the bench in the 73rd minute in the 4-1 win over Aris Thessaloniki at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.

POLAND

Ugo Ukah lasted 90 minutes for Jagiellonia Bialystok when they beat David Abwo's Zaglebie Lubin 1-0 to move to seventh place.

Emmanuel Sarki played 35 minutes of Wisla Krakow's 1-0 home defeat to Ruch Chorzow. He came off the bench.

SLOVAKIA

Nigerian duo Simon Ajala and Kingsley Madu played in the colours of Trencin, as the club endured the red card earned by Madu to win 2-1 against Zlate Moravce.

USA

Obafemi Martins lasted 90 minutes for Seattle Sounders in their 1-0 victory against Sporting Kansas City.

SPAIN

Super Eagles striker Ikechukwu Uche made a return to Villarreal's starting XI in the 2-0 league loss at Granada. Recuperating Odion Jude Ighalo wasn't listed by the winning team.
