Bobby Abel scored the first goal of the 2013/14 Globacom Nigeria Premier
League season as FC Taraba earned all three points against Nasarawa
United on Saturday.
The hosts were rarely threatened in a scrappy game at the Jalingo City Stadium.
The newly promoted side started the game slowly but gradually got into the business in the opening 25 minutes. A through ball sent Bobby clear off the Solid Miners defence, and he coolly fired in from close range, moments after United failed to capitalise.
“We were dominant and classy in possession, we fully deserve to win. The team did enough to get the maximum points,” the Bobby told a reliable source in Jalingo.
“We had set out to begin the campaign on a good footing. That's how we've been playing. We could have had a second goal in the second half.
“In the second half, we played well enough to get another goal. In today's match we were at a different level,” he added.
