Moses Bako: Flamingoes will be the toast of all

Confluence Queens Supporters Club Chief Moses Nagogo Bako reckons Nigeria U17 Women have a chance of winning the World Cup.

The well known Kogi State politician has flown in the face of popular opinion by insisting Bala Nkiyu’s girls have a good chance in Costa Rica.

He said: “The Nigeria team is really very good as they have a lot of players in the best teams in the Nigeria Women Premier League.

“For me they will always be a candidate to win any of the major tournaments that they are in.”

No African team has ever won the Cadet World Cup, but he feels his country would break the jinx and rewrite the record books.

He added: “It is a great challenge and we all want to continue writing history. Truly, it would be a dream to win the World Cup in Costa Rica, a country that loves the game.”

Flamingoes as they are popularly called will face their Chinese counterparts in a Group D match at the early hours of Monday in Alajuela.
