Reports at home and abroad had earlier linked Chelsea midfielder John
Obi Mikel with an exit from Chelsea when the window reopens this summer.
Italian clubs Napoli, Juventus and most recently Inter Milan have
courted the Super Eagles star while Monaco and Galatasaray explored the
possibility of poaching him from Chelsea just before the start of this
season.
When contacted to clarify the situation of his client, John Shittu
refused to confirm or deny trending reports that a departure from
Stamford Bridge is on the cards after the World Cup.
''Until the end of this season, we have nothing to say. When we have something to say, we will make a statement.
''What I can say now is that we are comfortable with Mikel's
situation,'' John Shittu told a close source in a telephone conversation from
England on Sunday afternoon.
26-year-old John Obi Mikel is now way down Jose Mourinho's pecking
order of defensive midfielders following the acquisition of Nemanja
Matic from Benfica in the January transfer window.
And the situation John Shittu is talking about is the few starts Mikel has had since the start of this season.
The Nigeria international has been named in the starting lineup only 9
times this term while he averaged 21 starts over the last 3 season.
