Nigeria Women Premier enters full swing with tantalisng games

The excitement that follows women football in the country returned last weekend as five centres out of the six saw the best of the game.
In Oleh, Delta State where the star match of the week was played, both Delta Queens and Rivers Angels lived up to their billings as it took the visitors 8 minutes to open scoring through Ugo Njoku, before the guest replied at the dot of 45 minutes through Ngozi Okobi.
This weekend, the Rivers Angels will be at home to ruthless Sunshine Queens. The Mimiko girls had no mercy on Nasarawa Amazons last weekend when they bashed them by three goals to one.
The Amazons from Lafia would this weekend trade tackles with Adamawa Queens who could not play their home match last weekend because of security challenges in the North Eastern part of the country. However, this weekend, they are expected to test their might against an aggrieved team that is still imaging what befell them in Akure last weekend.
Pelican Stars would also test their grit at home against Osun Babes. The Aregbe Babes who proved bookmakers wrong last weekend when they outscored the star studded Ibom Angels by two goals to one, with Ganiyat Adeleke of Osun Babes scoring the first goal in the Nigeria Women Premier League.
Confluence Queens would settle scores with the newly rejuvenated Ineeh Queens, while FC Taraba Queens would be at home for Delta Queens.
Ibom Angels would try to redeem their pride as they play host to Bayelsa Queens who struggled all through their week 1 match against Confluence Queens in Omoku last weekend.  Ibom Angels who boast of tested players like Precious Dede, Mfon Bassey, Vera Idoko among others, would not spare the Queens from Yenegoa.
The full week 2 fixtures:
Nasarawa Amazons vs Adamawa Queens
FC Taraba Queens vs Delta Queens
Confluence Queens vs Edo Queens
Ibom Angels vs Bayelsa Queens
Pelican Stars vs Osun Babes
Rivers Angels vs Sunshine Queens
