Paul Aigbogun has tipped his former team, Enyimba FC of Aba to get
the needed result in Mali when the People's Elephant play against AS
Real Bamako of Mali who ran away with a 1-2 victory in Aba in the first
leg of the first round of CAF Champions League.
Aigbogun told local radio, Brilafm in Lagos on Friday that it won't be
an easy game for the Aba millionaires who won the CAF Champions League
in 2003 and 2004.
"It won't be an easy game but it all depends on the way Enyimba
responds in Mali. They are a good side and i expect them to go there
with a positive attitude. I believe Enyimba can pull through in
Mali,"said Aigbogun.
Aigbogun, now with Warri Wolves lead the Seasiders to an important 3-2
away win in the CAF Confederations Cup against Union Douala of Cameroon
there by establishing an advantage going into the return leg in Warri.
Ahead of the FIFA World Cup taking place in Brazil, Aigbogun established the fact that there's stability in the Super Eagles.
"There's stability in the current Super Eagles team being the African
champions, a couple of players are already getting first team action in
their respective clubs which is also a good news for Nigeria. It all
depend on how the Super Eagles start their campaign at the World Cup,"
Aigbogun concluded.
It's been a tough task for Nigerian clubs playing in the continent as
the NPL champions, Kano Pillars have since been shown the exit door from
the continent this season, Enyimba, the only Nigerian club left in the
CAF Champions league this season have a very slim chance to advance to
the next stage.
