Official: Popo secures Metz deal

Former 36 Lion FC of Badagry, Lagos midfielder Sodiq Popoola has finally signed a two years deal with French ligue 2 leaders, FC Metz.
 
The strong creative midfielder was part of the 36 Lion FC formidable squad that took the Nigeria National League by storm, though the club, 36 Lion FC have since pulled out of the league to feature in a more commercial and competitive private league known as the "Metro Pro League" but 36 Lion FC is gradually becoming the manufacturing source for young talent, who are gradually taking a bold step in the big leagues. Ezekiel Imoh who just got an invite to the Super eagles is one the biggest names from the club.
 
According to the chairman of 36 Lion FC, Liameed Gafaar in a chat with a reliable source, both 36 Lion FC and FC Metz representatives had an extensive dialogue before Sodiq left but the only task the young midfielder had to complete is to prove himself.
 
"Im happy for Sodiq that he has just signed a two year professional contract with FC Metz. We had an extensive dialogue, they said he had to prove himself. He has proven himself and they fulfilled their promise," Gafaar said in an exiting tone.
 
Sodiq Popoola official jersey with FC Metz is number 6 and he has resumed training with the first team.
