NWPL week 3 preview

Confluence Queens and Rivers Angels will look to consolidate their grip on top, but they face daunting tasks against Delta Queens and Taraba Queens respectively in the Nigeria Women Premier League this weekend.

The Lokoja-based team have won one and drew one (3-1 and 0-0) in their first two matches.
Edwin Okon's girls also have the same streak, but the 2012/13 title loss to Nasarawa Amazons is still at the back of their minds. They are tied on the same points and same goals difference with the Kogi girls.

Osun Babes would depend on the skills of Ganiyat Adeleke and Seyi Gbadebo to maintain their perfect home record against Nasarawa Amazons. You can't also undermine the high work rate of Maryam Ibrahim and the pace of Eunice Ujunwa in the colours of the League Champions.

Adamawa Queens must raise their game if they are to break a winless run against Kennedy Boboye's Sunshine Queens.

Bayelsa Queens will be hoping to fix their below average start to the season with a home clash against a youthful Pelican Stars side.

Ibom Angels' march to a good position on the log takes them to Benin City, where they are guests to Edo Queens.

The full week 3 fixtures:
