Bala Nkiyu names soldiers for Costa Rica, as Flamingoes gets ready to take on the world

Coach of the Nigeria Female Under-17 team, Bala Nkiyu has released a list of 21 players expected to represent Nigeria in the upcoming Fifa Under-17 Women World Cup to be hosted by Costa Rica.


In the list of 21 submitted to FIFA last night, 7 of the players who campaigned in the last edition were included with 14 new debutants in the tournament where Nigeria has never gone beyond the quarter-finals in four appearances so far.

The entire defence line of the team were picked from last edition team namely, Mary Ologbosere, Patience Dike, Ugochi Emenayo, Esther Elijah, Faith Alex and Joy Duru.

Other players that made the cut are powerful striker Chinwendu Ihezuo and Mercy Vincent.
