Ranchers Bees Vs Kwara United: We Won't Take Sides Says NNL

Nigerian National League says they are waiting for the match commissioner’s report on the abandoned week 30 match between Ranchers Bees and Kwara United before deciding the fate of the two teams.

Both sides had been ordered to complete the remaining 28 minutes by the Nigeria Football Federation Appeals Committee, after the initial encounter was deadlocked due to one or two reasons.

The replay which was held at the FIFA Goal Project Technical Centre in Abuja recorded violent and shameful scenes.

Bees needed a draw to pick up the final Nigeria Professional Football League ticket, while the Afonja Warriors were in dire need of an outright win to achieve their objective too.

The game got underway at the nation's Federal Capital Territory with Bees threading the tactical lane, while the Warriors made their intentions clear with an all-out attack system.

Ten minutes to the end of the tension soaked battle, the Samson Unuanel tutored side were awarded a penalty kick, which the Kaduna team felt shouldn't have stood.

The match referee was given the beaten of his life by a Bees player and the game was forced to be abandoned.

Speaking on the incident, NNL Chairman, Emeka Inyama, assured that the body would consider all the variables in deciding the case.

“We had our people at the stadium, but then, we still need to see the match commissioner’s report first before deciding what to do.

“We have taken the match referee, who sustained serious injury, to hospital. It is unfortunate that things ended the way it did, but we want to assure all the parties that we will be fair to them.

“I just spoke to the match commissioner and he assured me that the report will be ready this night (Friday night), so, we are waiting for it.”
