Hapoel Beer Sheva survived the late sending-off of attacking midfielder
John Ogu to beat Hapoel Petach Tikva 2-1 at the Vasermil Stadium.
As at the time of filing this report, Beer Sheva improved to second on the Israeli Ligat ha'Al ladder with 31 points from 15 matches.
The Camels were in cruise control following Ogu's 2nd league goal on 6 minutes.
Siraj Nasser swept in a second in the 27th minute before Dor Kochav pulled back what turned out to be a consolation for the away side thirteen minutes to the end of the first half.
Super Eagles number two goalkeeper Austin Ejide also featured in the match for the hosts.
Ogu joined Beer Sheva in the summer transfer market on a 1 +3 year deal, and he has found his form after struggling in his final year at Academica.
A product of Flying Sport Academy, the midfielder previously defended the colours of teams in Slovenia, Spain and Portugal.
