The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) have explained the rationale behind
the choice of soccer and education as platform to use in remembering the
late renowned evangelist and founder of the World Soul Winning
Evangelical Mission, WOSEM Apostle prophet Timothy Obadare who died and
was buried this year.
Explaining to newsmen during a trophy presentation by Reverend Francis O Claudio, one of the closed associate and spiritual son of the late prophet to Christ For All Souls (CFAS) Sports International, a body saddled to organize the event at Akure, Ondo State, the clergy said Obadare in his days had deep love for children and every vocation associated with them.
Sports and education was picked as scheme to preserve the name of the late great prophet and Football was chosen, owing to its global popularity among youths, while educational quiz will be organized for primary and secondary school pupils in the Southwest with valuable prizes attached.
“We believed this would preserve that name in the minds of our children through such programmes which we intend to make an annual event with no denominational or religious attachments”.
Meanwhile, interested clubs or individuals that might want to support of register to be part of the event were implore to contact Local Organizing Committee (LOC) through 08076837587, while participants are expected from all States from Southwest part of the country.
“Obadare rose above disability of his lack of sight to make big impact on the lives of people including those with two eyes which is a very good attribute we want the younger ones to emulate” Rev. Dr. Oluwaferanmi Olanrewaju who is coordinating the tourney noted.
