Oshoala, Oparanozie & Ndom Makes Final Cut For CAF Award

Nigeria forward Asisat Oshoala is in line to win the African Women's Player of the Year award for the first time after being included in CAF's final three-woman shortlist on Thursday.

The 20-year-old will battle it out with Super Falcons goal poacher Desire Oparanozie and Cameroon goalkeeper Annette Ngo Ndom, who plays for Amazon Grimstad.

Oshoala is favourite to win the award, having produced a series of impressive displays for the Falconets and the Falcons.

She helped Rivers Angels win the Federation Cup for a record fifth consecutive time and also fired her club to the Nigeria Women Premier League title.

Powerful striker Oparanozie won the Golden Shoe award at the 9th African Women's Championship in Namibia.

She is currently on a roller coaster form with French Feminine Division One side, Guingamp, as she has registered nine goals in eleven appearances.

Reliable goalkeeper Ndom was a key player for the Cameroon side that finished second at the AWC.

Meanwhile, Oshoala also made the cut for the Youth Player of the year Award.

Other contenders are Fabrice Ondoa and the lanky Uchechi Sunday.

The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in Lagos on January 8, 2015.
