Nigerian Technocrats Handed CAF Appointments

Confederation of African Football (CAF) have appointed instructors to help drive the criteria that will ensure that clubs have appropriate infrastructure, knowledge and application in respect of management and organization.

In Nigeria, the Continental football ruling body has picked Paul Bassey, Bolaji Ojo Oba, Gen Dominic Oneya, Samson Adamu and Solomon Ogba as Instructors for Competitions and Stadia Management.

For Youth and Grassroots CAF has put forward Amodu Shuaibu, while Amanze Uchegbulam has been nominated as an Instructor on Administration,Legal and finances.

From the next football season in 2015, clubs engaging in CAF Inter Clubs competitions need to fulfill the minimum required criteria at the national level. “……they must obtain their licenses prior to their participation in those competitions. The Club Licence is now obligatory for the participation in CAF Inter Club competitions” A CAF circular ordered.

In order to drive the innovation that includes the improvement of the economic and financial capacity of clubs through proper corporate governance and control, CAF has recruited an expert Mr Ahmed Harraz to coordinate the programme.
