Falcao scored just his second goal for United, heading in Ashley Young's second-half cross, and van Gaal was pleased with his impact.
"It was a beautiful goal, I liked him today (Saturday). I am very happy for him and I am always happy when Manchester United score," he said.
"I have to compare players every week, there's always a question for every player, not only for Falcao."
