Nigeria striker Stanley Ohawuchi has hailed the fighting spirit and effort showed by Wadi Degla in the club's late stunner at Al Mokawloon on Tuesday.
A superb killer goal from Ragab Nabil in the 88th minute handed Degla a 1-0 win over the hosts in an Egypt Premier League match.
''Great game and perfect team effort today guys... Let's keep the spirit up and work harder and the sky will be our starting point... Thank you Lord for the victory, we are grateful,'' the former Heartland and Bayelsa United striker wrote on his official facebook page.
During the summer transfer window, Ohawuchi joined the Egyptian Premier League side Degla for an undisclosed amount after two seasons at Sliema Wanderers.
Ohawuchi, a member of the Flying Eagles at the 2009 U-20 World Cup, netted 21 league goals for Sliema last season to emerge joint top scorer in Malta, and Nigeria’s highest goal scorer in Europe.
His move to Degla came as a surprise to many, who had expected him to seal a move to one of the big leagues of Europe after his fantastic outing in Malta.
He was handed the number nine jersey in Degla.
