Chinedu Efugh has stated said that late preparation for the the 2013/2014 Nigeria Premier
League cost the Heartland FC a continental ticket.
.
Heartland finished 10th on the Premier League log, with 55 points from 38 matches.
The player fondly known as Chicago said, “I don’t believe in bad or
ill-luck. Early preparation helps. We did not prepare early this season
and last season we started badly; that is the problem.
“It affected our getting the continental ticket. It’s unfortunate that it went that way.”
He, however, urged his teammates to
remain focused in order to ensure that the club returned to winning ways
in the 2014/2015 soccer season.
“We should look beyond our
disappointment and plan for something better in the coming season. If we
remain focused and dedicated, I’m sure we will get the desired results
next season,’’ he said.
