Abwo Opens His Goal Diary

Solomon David Abwo scored his first goal of the season for Giresunspor, who continued their brilliant run of six matches without a defeat, with a 2-0 win over Karsiyaka.

The former Enyimba International star who has been searching for his first goal in the ongoing season capped an excellent afternoon with the second goal of the day.

Ismail Dinler's 29th minute strike handed the hosts an excellent start at the Giresun Ataturk Stadi on Sunday against the visitors.

Having spurned chances to double their advantage in the first half, Giresunspor got to work quickly after the break.

Things got worse for the visitors with eight minutes left to play when Abwo pounced to grab a two-goal cushion for his team.

Abwo swelled the number of Nigerians in Turkey after he joined Giresunspor from Zaglebie Lubin during last summer transfer window.

The fast forward featured for Nigeria at the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup in the Netherlands alongside Mikel Obi, Obinna Nsofor, Chinedu Obasi amongst others.
