Warri Wolves midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu believes next weekend's
meeting with Elkanemi Warriors can be another body step to the club's
ambition after the 3-2 CAF Confederation Cup away win against Union
Duoala.
The 2013 Nigeria Football Federation Cup runners-up did well in Cameroon and clinched an impressive away victory - but the former Warriors star know that a win in the league's opener could revatalise Wolves.
“Mosquito” as he is known by admirers is confident his team-mates have enough to claim all three points at the Warri City Stadium and set their sights on finishing in the top two.
“We have a lot of respect because Elkanemi is a good team,” Ikechukwu told a reliable source.
“But we have to approach the match with confidence and if we win we can fight for the league title.
“The priority is to win; if we win this game we will be contenders,” he concluded.
