Bit players to impress the Big Boss

Today's African Nations Championship third place match against Zimbabwe is seen as the opportunity for bit players of Stephen Keshi's Super Eagles to impress the technical bench.


Top on the list is Daniel Akpeyi, but he might be dislodged by Golden Eaglets goalie Dele Alampasu. The defence line should remain unchanged with Kunle Odunlami, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Bright Esieme and Solomon Kwambe expected to start.

Flying Eagles forward Christian Pyagbara is expected to be in action after playing the last few minutes of Nigeria’s semi final clash against Ghana.

Another player, who may likely be given a chance is Enugu Rangers physical striker, Christian Obiozor.

Nigeria’s third place clash against Zimbabwe comes up at 5pm today in Cape Town.
